I help my family law clients resolve their problems in a private, respectful process that minimizes the negative effects of divorce on their children.  My clients are committed to maintaining a positive relationship with their spouse or partner during and after my involvement, which is what I emphasize in my representation.  I strongly believe that individuals achieve the best outcomes by investing their time, money and energy in a purposeful way to reach win-win agreements without court intervention.  Divorce can cause great stress for families and I strive to minimize that stress for my clients, while offering creative solutions based on each person’s specific circumstances.  I encourage communication between divorcing parents, which allows them to continue jointly raising their children.  Since children learn how to resolve conflict by watching their parents, the way parents handle their divorce, financial issues and parenting arrangements serves as an important example to their children.

I attended Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg as an evening-division student while maintaining full-time employment, graduating in 2003.  Before attending law school I earned my Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Shippensburg University and my Master’s degree in psychology from Penn State and gained valuable real-life experience working full-time. I served as the 2012 and 2013 president of the Collaborative Professionals of Central Pennsylvania (www.collaborativelawpa.com).  I am a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (www.collaborativepractice.com) and a regional representative for the Pennsylvania Bar Association Collaborative Law Committee. I was the 2013 Chair of the Dauphin County Bar Association family law section.

In July 2013 I established Demmel Law Office, LLC and I focus on the practice of family law.  I am determined to help my clients achieve the best possible outcomes to benefit themselves and their families, no matter what process they choose to reach those outcomes.
