I have been practicing family law in Central Pennsylvania since 1979 when I graduated cum laude from the Dickinson School of Law.  I practiced with a firm in Williamsport for three years, a major litigation firm in Harrisburg for twenty years heading their family law section, for ten years in my own firm in Hershey where I handled a significant  volume of traditional family law cases and began doing collaborative law cases, and more recently with Lavery Faherty Patterson in Harrisburg.

I have been Board certified in civil trial law and advocacy by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification.  I have served as a Dauphin County arbitrator and as chairman of the arbitration panel.  I have settled and tried cases to verdict in many counties throughout Central Pennsylvania.  I have mediated and arbitrated many cases and been selected as a mediator on a number of occasions by attorneys seeking to resolve their disputes through an alternative means to litigation.

I have received training in Collaborative law from the original founders, Stuart G. Webb, Esquire and  Ronald D. Ousky, Esquire. I have also taken ICACP collaborative training and conflict resolution training.  I am a member of the Central Pennsylvania Collaborative Professionals and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.  I have presented public seminars on family law.

With my extensive litigation background I have found collaborative practice to be a welcome change from the often contentious and stressful struggles of traditional litigation.  With my arbitration and mediation experience and training I am able to guide clients effectively to resolution of difficult issues.  Collaborative practice is a positive alternative to litigation in a variety of domestic disputes.
